DIED. ["1877" pencilled in]

On Friday last, IDA ROSE, eldest daughter of Edward Rose, of Caledonia, after a severe illness of typhoid fever, aged twenty-one years. The funeral services were held on Sunday, Rev. J. B. Stimson, of Christ Church, Owosso, conducting them in Episcopal form, and were attended by a large circle of friends of the family.

Miss Rose was a young lady of rare refinement and sweetness of character; and though retiring in disposition, she was sincere and warm in her friendships, and her unvarying devotion shed a daily beauty that was felt in the hearts of all who knew her. Thus to the swollen list of stricken households, is added another, with its vacant spot and bleeding hearts. Another life, just opened into earnest, noble womanhood, is closed. But while grieving hearts here are bowed down in anguish, she whom they mourn is joyous in the presence of Him she trusted and loved so well.

Gone in her golden prime,
Gone ere her morn was past -
Yet gone at God's appointed time,
As all must go at last.
