• Illness: Major operation, 7 Oct 1947, Walter Reed Hospital, Washington DC?. Syracuse Herald Journal reported the following on 10-8-1947.
Washington - Attaches of Walter Reed Hospital reported today that Col. Rinaldo R. Wood of Herkimer, N.Y. was in "good condition" following a "major operation" yesterday.
In conformity with hospital regulations, they declined to reveal the nature of the operation, but said it was not emergency in character.
"Colonel Wood is doing fine," the hospital's executive officer reported.
Wood was admitted to Walter Reed on Sept 27. It is anticipated that he will be discharged in two or three weeks.
Rinaldo married Maude LONGSHORE, daughter of Gideon LONGSHORE and Anna GLOO, on 27 Mar 1890. (Maude LONGSHORE was born in 1870.)
